Graduation Ceremony of TMA
Merab Berdzenishvili International Center of Culture "Muza" hosted graduation ceremony of TMA Class of 2017.
The graduates were greeted and wished a successful future by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine - Mrs. Tsisana Lomashvili, Emeritus – Prof. David Khazaradze, Professors of Academy: Anzor Melia, Giorgi Gvakharia, Giorgi Kandelaki and Maia Kiviladze.
Ana Mikeladze, a member of the European Medical Students' Association (EMSA) and the student self-government of the Academy addressed her peers.
At the end of the ceremony, TMA Rector, Mrs. Irine Shotadze awarded the graduates with memorable diplomas.
The event ended with delivering Hippocrattic Oath and a ceremonial cake cut.
TMA Delegates on ISCOMS
Students of TMA International Faculty, Saif Tawfeeq and Ajinkya Kulkarni were visiting Medical University of Groningen, Netherlands, where they were participating in 24th annual International Student Congress for (bio)Medical Sciences (ISCOMS). In the frames of Congress, Saif Tawfeeq delivered poster presentation regarding SFRS1 overexpression in pancreatic cancer tissues and it’s correlation to perineural invasion of the tumor cells.
ISCOMS is one of the biggest and most important academic gatherings for medical students and young doctors, where they have opportunities to attend lectures of Nobel Prize laureates, among them 2016 award winner Prof. Ben Feringa and 2001 prize winner Sir Tim Hunt. Saif Tawfeeq was selected out of 700 participants to have special meeting with them and engage with giants of modern medicine in head to head conversation. TMA congratulates Saif with this amazing success and wishes more success in the future!
TMA is encouraging student’s participation in such activities and will support further involvement of students in international research and other scientific activities.
IFMSA SCORP Event at TMA
Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy hosted event, organized by IFMSA Committee for Human Rights and Peace (SCORP). The main objective of the event was to raise awareness of future doctors towards gender biased prenatal sex selection and discrimination and encourage dissemination of information among peers.
The informational lecture, led by Assistant Representative of UNFPA in Georgia, Mrs. Lela Bakradze, was attended by students and administration of TMA, as well as medical students from other universities.In the frames of the project, students got familiarized with ongoing projects and observed trends related to issue. After the lecture students had opportunities to exercise their opinions and participate in interactive Q&A.
On June 16, members of committee, led by TMA International Faculty student, Tekla Gelovani, visited several Universities of Tbilisi and TMA affiliated Maternity Hospital “House of Health”, where they distributed informational material and mixed color baby accessories.

“Medi Club Georgia”
hosted a students scientific conference around the topic of Antibiotic Resistance. The conference is ran and organized by Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy.
Ping-Pong internal championship
Tbilisi Medical Academy students’ self-governance is planning on 4th December at 13:30 the Ping-Pong internal championship in which can attend the students as well as from Georgian sector also from the international sector and the rules of the championship will be according to the Olympic system. The first three winning places will be awarded with prizes.
TMA Welcome Party
On 23rd of September will be held TMA Welcome Party in the Karaoke Club "Kamerton" on Beliashvili str. 26.
The evening is going to be full of positive emotions, fun and joy!!

Second Scientific Debates
Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy hosted second scientific debates among students. The topic of debates was one of the actual biomedical issue on genetic engineering, and Participant teams were first, second, fourth and fifth semester students in TMA. The debates attended by honored guests from Tbilisi State Medical University and David Tvildiani Medical University. The debates ran tense but friendly environment; has enormous success and ended with pleasant discussion after main presentations, the guests and students expressed their hopes to have this opportunity again in the future with involvement of other medical universities in Georgia.
XVIII Annual Student Scientific Conference
Tbilisi Medical Academy hosted XVIII Annual Student Scientific Conference, in frames of which were delivered 21 presentations. This year, together with Georgian and International Students of Tbilisi Medical Academy, participants of the conference were presented from Tbilisi State Medical University and David Tvildiani Medical University – “AIETI.”
The Conference was conducted in a friendly and fair environment. Authors of best presentations were awarded with encouraging Prizes and Memorabilia.
